It is a magnificent wilderness area in excess of 1,700 square kilometres, bordering the Moremi Reserve. Time at Kwara will reveal why the Delta, with all its remarkable plant, bird and animal life, is unique in the world. The water experience, either fishing, on a mekoro or exploring the channels and rivers by boat, is spectacular. Visit the famous Godikwe Lagoon, where you can see thousands of herons, storks and other nesting birds.
The Kwara area is also home to a variety of wild animals including, lechwe, sitatunga, reedbuck, bushbuck, hippo, crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and tsessebe. Lion, hyaena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are also regularly seen.
The eight safari-style tents are built on raised decks, within a grove of huge and ancient African Ebony trees. Resident hippos will serenade you from the water on the floodplain in front of the camp. Each tent has its own viewing deck, private en-suite facilities, flush toilets and modern amenities.

Day: 3 & 4

Itinerary: From Kwara Camp, it’s a flight north to Lebala Camp at the southern edge of the huge Kwando concession . You may be tempted to spend many hours in the luxurious tents, but the promise of some of Africa's best game viewing will hopefully lure you onto a game drive and out across the stunning wide open plains around the camp. The wetlands and flood plains around Lebala Camp offer a wonderful variety of wildlife with excellent sightings of elephant, hippo, lechwe, zebra, giraffe, impala, wildebeest, kudu, tsessebe, roan, sable, buffalo and the ever present predators; wild dog , lion, cheetah and hyena.
Lebala Camp has eight spacious tents which are unique, each one is built on a raised teak deck, laid out with maximum comfort and privacy in mind. The tents have an entrance foyer with a reading and writing area, en-suite bathrooms with Victorian clawfoot bathtubs, bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower. Each tent has its own sundeck.

Day: 5 & 6

Itinerary: The intimate and tranquil atmosphere of Lagoon Camp , some 30 kilometres away is the next stop. Set on the banks of an oxbow of the Kwando River, Lagoon Camp is remote and beautiful. For many months of the year you’ll see elephant drinking from the water next to the camp and witness the huge herds of buffalo that keep close proximity to the Kwando River.
Wild dogs, lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena are all never far away from their food sources. Over the years, many guests have been fortunate enough to see some of the incredible interactions between predator and prey species. Morning and night game drives are conducted by specialist guides and trackers in open safari vehicles. This area is home to huge herds of elephants and buffalo.
Lagoon Camp has 8 twin bedded luxury safari-style tents. Each tent looks out over the water and has private en-suite facilities, open-air showers, flush toilets and modern amenities.

Day: 7 & 8

Itinerary: Fly into Livingstone in Zambia or Victoria Falls and stay for two nights at Songwe Village in Zambia, on the edge of the breathtaking Batoka Gorge, 400 feet above the mighty Zambezi River.
Victoria Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world and whether you choose to white water raft, absorb the culture of an authentic African village experience, take a sunset cruise or even play golf, there is a tremendous range of activities.
At Songwe Village you will stay in spacious, comfortable thatched huts, built in the traditional style. Each one of the eight huts has a flushing toilet and en suite shower with a commanding views of the gorge below. The staff at Songwe will ensure a wonderful stay.
