Meander through the maze and beauty of the Okavango Delta Panhandle on board a house-boat. The notion of an Okavango houseboat might be unusual, but imagine spending lazy days on board whilst experiencing wildlife and birds of all descriptions. Fishing is popular with the Okavango River home to about 80 species of fish, including 11 kinds of bream, two types of barbel, African pike and the famous fighting tigerfish.

Itinerary:

Upon your arrival into Maun Airport you will be met and welcomed by a representative from The Booking Company, who will assist you with your connection onto light aircraft to Drotsky's Camp. Here you will board the Ngwesi House Boat and move out into the water. Normally the captain wil drop anchor by 4pm and you will enjoy a Sundowner trip on the “tender boats” to explore the surrounding area. A three course dinner is enjoyed on the upper deck of the Ngwesi, whilst listening to the nocturnal sounds of the African night.

Itinerary:

Today you will rise early to enjoy the sunrise over the Okavango Delta from the Houseboat. After a leisurely breakfast you will have the option of participating in a tender baot outing to explore the surrounding areas, fishing and birding or lazing on deck soaking up the sun. By midday you will return to the Ngwesi and enjoy a light lunch served on board. You will have time to relax and enjoy the peaceful pace onboard the Ngwesi. Later this afternoon a trip on the Tender boats is offered. An opportunity of trying your hand at fishing for tiger and bream fish. Or you may choose to do birding watching, with over 400 species of birds this area, this is sure to be a rewarding experience. This evening sundowners are enjoyed on the deck of the Ngwesi watching a perfect African sunset.

Itinerary:

Early morning departure for a full day excursion to Tsodilo Hills (Picnic Breakfasts and lunches will be provided) The Tsodilo Hills are a spiritually rewarding treat in the south-western corner of Botswana. Mystery and intrigue surrounds this unusual place, believed by the San Bushmen to be the site of first Creation. The San painted more than 3 500 rock paintings on the stone faces of the hills. Some of the paintings date back to between 800 and 1300 AD. The site is held sacred by the locals. You will enjoy sundowners and dinner back onboard the Ngwesi House- Boat.

Itinerary:

The Ngwesi pulls up anchors and meanders back to its mooring at Drotsky’s Camp. Your breakfast is served en route. Arriving back at Drotsky’s at aprox 09h30-10h00, you will be transferred back to the Maun for your onward connection.
