The Okavango is the world’s largest island Delta and the calm waters are ideal for house boats to operate in this area. The diverse wild and birdlife creates a perfect paradise for anglers and nature lovers to enjoy. The Ngwesi houseboat is moored at a different location each night. Tender boats accompany the Ngwesi House Boat and these are used to explore the channels and lagoons in the area.
One of the world`s finest freshwater fighting fish inhabits these waters and you will have the opportunity to go out on the tender boats to try your hand at hooking the mighty Tiger Fish .

Day: 1

Itinerary: Upon your arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by a representative from The Booking Company and assisted onto your light aircraft transfer to Shakawe. You will be meet at Shakawe and transferred to the house-boat.
Ngwesi House Boat operates from Shakawe on the North of the Okavango Delta Panhandle. It is a 40ft x 20ft Houseboat on pontoons with outboard engines.
The lower deck consists of 4 luxurious en-suite cabins, two with twin beds and the other two with double beds, all decorated with the finest linen. Glass sliding doors in the cabins allow for spectacular views of the passing wild Africa. Bathrooms are spacious, with hot and cold fresh water showers.
The Upper deck is under cover and is used for dining and socialising. The fully stocked and serviced wooden bar is also situated on the Upper deck.
You will drop anchor in the late afternoon and enjoy a sundowner cruise on one of the tender boats.
A three course dinner is enjoyed on the upper deck of the Ngwesi when you return.

Day: 2 & 3

Itinerary: For the bird lover this is a paradise - species of interest include the Pel's Fishing Owl, African Skimmer, Slaty Egret, Whitebacked Night Heron , Wattled Crane and Western Banded Snake Eagle as well as numerous species of Bee-eaters, Herons, Kingfishers, Ducks, Geese and Storks.
The Tiger Fish is Africa's most sought after angling species, and particularly during the peak season months of August to December, the waters provide excellent catches with regards to both size and numbers. Both Tiger Fish and Bream are caught throughout the year. Other species caught are African Pike and Catfish. All fishing equipment is provided but you are welcome to bring their own.
Spend your days participating in tender boat outings to explore the surrounding areas, fishing and birding or lazing on deck soaking up the sun.
Delicious meals and sundowner trips are very special on board the Ngwesi.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the Tsodilo Hills .
The site consists of four hills that rise abruptly, to about 400m, from the dry expanse of bushveld. The hills are home to more than 4,000 San Bushman paintings - the world's most important collection of rock art. The artistic tradition lives on in basketwork, pottery, weaving and art that flourishes today in many parts of Botswana. There are several walking trails which provide helpful routes around the painting sites at Tsodilo Hills.

Day: 4

Itinerary: Returning to base today - we enjoy a leisurely breakfast while watching the Delta and all its wonders slowly pass the house-boat.
You will be transferred back to the Shakawe airstrip for your onward flight or road connections.
