Day: 1 & 2

Itinerary: You will be welcomed upon arrival at Livingstone Airport and transferred by road to Mambova Rapids, a local Zambezi trading post situated north of Kazungula along the Zambezi River. The Sekoma Island guides will be there to meet you and transfer you further by boat to Sekoma Island, one of a network of seven Islands situated in the middle of the mighty Zambezi River.

Sekoma Island is a "Robinson Crusoe" Type Island teaming with indigenous fauna and flora, which boasts more than 70 different fish species.
Sekoma fishing camp specializes in tailor made fishing safaris on the upper Zambezi and Chobe river system.
Accommodation is basic yet very comfortable. There are eight spacious electrified safari tents placed on wooden decks with a beautiful view over looking the Mombova Rapids. Each suite has a full bathroom and sleeps two in either single or queen size beds. The main area consists of a bar, an open boma with al fresco dining which has great views of the Zambezi River.
Sekoma has a variety of guided activities on offer. Fishing for tiger fish and bream, birding, guided walks, motor boat excursions on the Zambezi River, cultural village visits to the Mambowa village and day trips to Livingstone and the Victoria Falls.

Day: 3 & 4

Itinerary: Today you will be transferred from Sekoma Island, via the Kasaai channel into Namibia and along the Chobe River to Chobe Savanna Lodge, overlooking the Chobe National Park in Botswana.

Fishing excursions (Catch & Release) are on offer and limited “spinning” rod & tackle is available. It is advised that avid fishermen take their own equipment along to Chobe Savanna Lodge.
Built on a peninsular of the Chobe River, the lodge boasts a 280 degree view of Chobe National Park, which is well known for it's large herds of Elephant and buffalo, that could be sighted from the lodge throughout the day.
As the lodge is only 35 minutes up stream from the Zambezi and Chobe confluence, you can fish the productive waters of the Chobe around the lodge or take a day trip up the great Zambezi.
The Chobe and Zambezi Systems are a true water wilderness, teaming with wildlife and a large variety of fish species. It is an ideal place for the adventurous angler, both conventional and fly fisher to experiment in catching many different species on light tackle.
Here you will find numerous large colourful bream species, catfish, pike and the elusive tiger fish.
Chobe Savanna Lodge has a number of boats and experienced fishing and bird guides, who have extensive knowledge of the area.

Game viewing by boat as well as sunset cruise on the Chobe River are included activites at the lodge. Nature walks and guided canoeing along the river as well as a cultural excursion to one of the surrounding local communities can be enjoy too.

Chobe Savanna Lodge accommodates 24 guests in stylish thatched chalets, all with private decks, a combined air conditioned bedroom / lounge area, complimentary mini bars and en-suite bathrooms. Facilities include a swimming pool, an open boma area on the banks of the Chobe River, where traditional dancing is performed by local villagers.

Day: 5

Itinerary: After breakfast and activity this morning you will take a scheduled boat and road transfer from Chobe Savanna Lodge, via Kasane in Botswana, to Livingstone Airport in Zambia.

Notes/Other: Please Note: This itinerary is an example only, and can be tailor-made to suit your personal requirements. We can combine this proposed itinerary with other camps in Botswana and or increase the no of nights spent at each lodge. Accordingly, no price is indicated, as this will depend upon a number of factors, such as your routing and duration of stay.

Additional Info: Sekoma camp has basic rods available but be advised to bring your own special equipment and lures.
Extended fishing activities by boat at Sekoma, which shall be charged on a per boat basis and per hour, for usage outside the allocated 2 – 3 hour activities normally provided for.
No children under twelve years of age are allowed at Sekoma Camp, due to the close proximity of the river and rapids.
