Day: 1 & 2

Itinerary: Upon your arrival into Maun Airport you will be met and welcomed by a representative from The Booking Company, who will assist you with your connection onto light aircraft to Kwara Camp.
Situated north of Moremi, Kwara Camp has 8 large, comfortable ensuite tents with outdoor showers. Shaded verandas are raised onto individual wooden platforms. Kwara's lounge overlooks a large lagoon and the boma is close to the water's edge.
Kwara offers mokoro trips and day and night 4x4 safari drives. Drives always have a tracker as well as a driver-guide, which helps to produce some excellent game sightings. Kwara Camp also offers boat trips, some on a double-decker boat giving great views over the papyrus. You can visit the renowned heronry at Gcodikwe Lagoon, which is at its best September to March.
The Kwara area boats a variety of wild animals which include, lechwe, sitatunga, reedbuck, bushbuck, hippo, crocodiles, elephant, buffalo, sable, roan, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala and tsessebe. Lion, hyaena, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are also regularly seen.

Day: 3 & 4

Itinerary: You depart from Kwara Camp on a flight north to Lebala Camp at the southern edge of the Kwando concession. Kwando is a wild reserve and attracts big game, especially during the dry season when elephants are found in abundance.
Lebala is a remote safari camp with 8 rooms set in an open area of lush grasslands. Each tent is raised up on a wooden deck, with a sundeck and large bedroom overlooking the plains. Floor to ceiling zipped meshed windows allow views from your bed over the surrounding plains. Your balcony has deckchairs and you can enjoy the open spaces from your own tent. Your en-suite bathroom is spacious and has a claw-footed bath and out-door shower.
Lebala's activities focus on day and night game drives. As the nearby waterways have too many hippos, there are no mokoro and boat trips. Nature walks are offered if there are not too many elephant in the area.
Common species found here include impala, warthog, red lechwe, kudu, tsessebe, giraffe, steenbok, vervet monkey and baboon. Lion, leopard and spotted hyena are common. Herds of zebra and wildebeest are resident from May to December; elephants and buffalo follow a similar pattern, but there are individuals around all year. Kwando is also a good reserve for sightings of wild dog.

Day: 5 & 6

Itinerary: Proceed to Lagoon Camp which stands beside the river, to the north of the reserve, in thick riverine forest. The eight tented rooms are spacious, have private verandahs and deck-chairs overlooking the river and large bathrooms with outside showers. The lounge area houses a small library, curio shop and plunge pool.
Lagoon Camp offers short walks, fishing and a double-decker boat for bird watching cruises.
As the camp abuts a deep waterway, you will spot a good variety of water birds from the camp itself. In season (Oct-Nov), there is a colony of carmine bee-eaters which nests in the bank of the river. Swamp boubou, sacred and hadeda ibis, pied and malachite king-fisher, wattled plover, wattled crane, African darter, amongst other species are also seen in this area.
A tracker will accompany the day and night 4WD game drives. You will see a wide variety of game here including lion, large herds of buffalo, red lechwe, spotted hyena, and wild dog. There are also crocodile and large pods of hippo. Enjoy a cruise on the double-decker boat, where you can observe hippo in the crystal clear water.

Day: 7 & 8

Itinerary: Fly into Livingstone and stay for two nights at Songwe Village in Zambia.
Perched on a spectacular gorge, 120m above the Zambezi River, each of Songwe's eight comfortable huts has en-suite flush toilet, a hot shower and spectacular views. Meals are traditional food, usually eaten together, sometimes followed by singing and dancing around the fire. This area is steeped in history, the nearby Mukuni Village is 700 years old and home to most of the staff that work at Songwe Village. They will be very happy to introduce you to their people and their traditions. Songwe perfects the balance between comfort and authenticity.
You can participate in a full range of activities offered in the vicinity; from elephant back safaris and game drives to adrenalin pumping bungee jumping, white water rafting and helicopter rides over the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls.

Day: 9

Itinerary: After an early morning activity and breakfast, you will transfer to Livingstone Airport in time for you onward flight connection.

Notes/Other: Please Note: This itinerary is an example only, and can be tailor-made to suit your personal requirements. We can combine this proposed itinerary with other camps in Botswana. Accordingly, no price is indicated, as this will depend upon a number of factors, such as your routing and duration of stay.
As we have good relationships with many Botswana camps, we can often reduce or waive single supplements. It is easiest to arrange these waivers outside peak season which runs from July to October, so bear this in mind when planning your safari.
